We also focused on refreshing the menu to reflect a more contemporary and vibrant aesthetic, with clear sections and appetizing visuals that would draw in the younger crowd. The menu redesign aimed to make the choices more accessible and enticing, encouraging students to stop by for a quick and satisfying meal. Additionally, we created posters that highlighted special offers and the restaurant’s new vibe, capturing the attention of passersby with bold designs and clear messaging.

For Takeout Fish and Chips, our goal was to revitalize the brand and make it more appealing to a younger, college-age demographic, as the restaurant was located near Fanshawe College. We began by redesigning the logo to modernize its look and make it more visually engaging while still maintaining its core identity.

Creative сhallenges

We focused on creating a fresh, fun, and youthful design language that would instantly connect with the college crowd, using bright, vibrant colors and playful elements while maintaining a professional and approachable feel. The posters, logo, and menu all had to come together to create an experience that felt both welcoming and relevant to the target demographic.

One of the main challenges was striking the right balance between modernizing the restaurant’s brand and staying true to its core values of quality, comfort food. With the goal of attracting a younger audience, it was essential to use visuals that would resonate with students but also maintain the authenticity of the original concept.

User experience focus

The posters were strategically designed to catch the attention of students walking by, with clear offers and promotions that encouraged them to come in. Whether it was a new dish, a discount for students, or a limited-time offer, the posters aimed to provide a simple, eye-catching call to action that drove engagement with the store.

From a user experience standpoint, the redesigned menu focused on clarity and simplicity. With many students often in a rush, the goal was to make the menu easy to navigate and the ordering process as quick and efficient as possible. We used visuals of the dishes to make the food look even more irresistible, giving customers a visual cue of what they could expect when ordering.
